Frequently Asked Questions...

How far in advance do we need to order our wedding cake? We are limited to a few cakes a week, so that I can give each one my full creative and personal attention. Therefore we recommend that as soon as you have a date, venue and colours scheme you should arrange for a consultation. Even if you are not sure on your design you should reserve your date especially for a Summer wedding as most of our brides book 9 to 12 months with a few booking 18 months to 2 years in advance. However we can fit in late bookings subject to availability so please do e-mail or call us on 01508 558 196.

Can you deliver our wedding cake? Yes. Nationwide delivery is available for all of our wedding cakes. We have a free delivery service for venues within the NR postcode. If you live outside this area, please ask for a quote. We can also arrange delivery for weddings that are taking place overseas.

Can I mix the flavours of my wedding cake? Of course. Each tier of your wedding cake can be a different flavour. Ideally if you are having a stacked cake the fruitcake should be at the bottom.

What if I have my own idea for a design? We are often supplied with sketches or magazine cutouts and asked to reproduce them.

I cant see the wedding cake I want on your website This is not a problem. All our cakes are individually designed to your personal specifications. Please call us to discuss your wedding cake design ideas.

How long before our wedding is the wedding cake prepared? If your wedding cake contains fruitcake then we will make them 4 weeks before your wedding date. The fruitcake needs regular feeding and maturing with brandy. If your wedding cake is sponge then we will prepare these the week of the wedding to ensure their freshness.

Can we taste the cakes? Certainly. Please call to arrange a consultation and to let us know what flavours you are interested in.

Do we have to pay a deposit to confirm the date and how much is it? Yes we require a £100.00 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking and the balance is required 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding.

A friend or relative has offered to make my cake what should I do? Be very careful if a well-meaning friend or relative offers to make your cake. Only you can be the judge of their abilities. A wedding cake is a lot different to making the odd novelty cake here and there, its not just about taste and style its also about the structure. Please bare in mind that a good cake designer will have spent years in training and mastering their craft. Unfortunately we hear of many disasters stories for instance when the cakes have not been cooked for long enough or the other extreme been cooked for too long and are burnt and dry. Or icing that hasnt had time to set. Plus Incorrectly supported cakes can collapse.

if you have any queries at all please do not hesitate to contact us by email us or call us on 01508 558 196.
